Author the MEP model
Revit is where the detailed MEP system is built and edited — the production environment for ducts, pipes, equipment, electrical systems, families, parameters and views. If the problem is "how should this MEP system be modelled?", Revit is usually the place to solve it.
Federate and test
Navisworks is useful when multiple models need to be brought together for review. It supports clash tests, viewpoints, search sets, coordination review and reporting. If the problem is "how do all these models behave together?", Navisworks is a strong fit.
Communicate and track
Revizto is particularly useful for turning coordination issues into a shared review workflow. Teams can communicate around 3D views, track issues, and maintain a clearer relationship between model location and discussion. If the problem is "how do we make sure everyone understands, owns and closes this issue?", Revizto can be valuable.
No software can decide whether a route is buildable, whether access is adequate, or whether a coordination decision is commercially sensible. Software exposes information. Engineers and project teams make decisions.
The workflow, not the tool, is the actual decision
A contractor might author the MEP model in Revit, federate it with architecture and structure in Navisworks, then manage coordination issues through Revizto. The important thing isn't choosing one "best" BIM tool — it's designing a workflow where each tool solves the problem it's actually good at solving.
What to ask a BIM provider instead
